How to be an Interior Designer!

Anne Mahoney, Hatherly parent and owner of Anne Lydia Interior Designs, visited Ms. Hirschberger’s 5th grade class on Thursday to talk about her journey to becoming an interior designer and owning her own company. Students learned that she didn’t always know what she wanted to be, but always had a love of art. Ms. Mahoney kindly shared that she found math challenging in school, but now that she owns her own business, she uses math skills all the time. It was wonderful for students to understand the real-life importance of what they are learning even in 5th grade. They then began to design their own “Small Pet House'' for their desks. Ms. Mahoney has graciously offered to return next month to help them build! A big thank you to Ms. Mahoney for sharing her journey with us!
