This year marks our 4th SPS Juneteenth Recognition event! Our theme is “A Legacy of Love” signifying the impact, strength and undefeated power of love. Our event will feature the return of our infamous Soul Train Line, songstress and vocal dynamo Carina, keynote address by Markaveus Barnes, the voices of our Scholars and Art by SPS Scituate METCO Boston-Resident Scholar-Artist Leilana Sequea.
This day will be made more special as we present our first ever Juneteenth Hometown Hero Award. This award is bestowed upon an individual with connections to our beloved town of Scituate and who has carried out deeds positively impacting others and creating a legacy of love, inclusion and trust.
In celebration of cultural heritage and shared history, the Scituate Cape Verde Sister City Committee will be providing catered Cape Verdean appetizers for all attendees.
Our SPS Juneteenth celebration is more than a gathering; it is a proud declaration that we honor freedom in all its forms and are committed to building a future rooted in love, inclusion and trust.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Please arrive early as seats fill quickly. See everyone there!
