Welcome New Cushing Elementary School Principal

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Jesse Craddock as the new Cushing Elementary School Principal, effective July 22, 2024. Mr.Craddock comes to Scituate Public Schools from Hanover where he previously served as the Head Principal for Cedar Elementary School. In addition to being a Head Principal, he also served as an Assistant Principal for an Elementary School in Franklin, MA and an Elementary School Teacher in Newburyport, MA.  

During his time as Head Principal, Mr. Craddock was able to manage the day-to-day operations of 500 students and 85 staff, facilitate instructional leadership meetings, school and parent council meetings, and principal advisory meetings. He effectively oversaw the development of technology for instructional and administrative purposes, as well as implemented staff professional development programs that improved student academic performance.

Mr. Craddock shared that he is “excited to work in a vibrant community which nurtures the growth and development of all students. Scituate Public Schools has a strong reputation for staff and faculty members who are committed to the overall well-being of each student.” When asked why he enjoys working with children he stated, “nothing matches the energy of a child’s enthusiasm for school and eagerness to learn. Days that consist of creativity, play, learning and fun are both meaningful and rewarding. Witnessing a child handle adversity or accomplish a task that they originally thought was unattainable is remarkable. I admire how honest, flexible, and resilient children can be, especially at the elementary level. I can’t imagine ever working anywhere other than in a school setting.”

Educationally, Mr. Craddock holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Gordon College.  

In his free time, he enjoys taking his children to the local playground, going to the beach, playing golf and pickleball, and watching his beloved UConn Huskies and Pittsburgh Steelers.
