Exemplary Student Groups Chosen for Massachusetts Showcase

On May 28th, students from Gates and SHS were selected to participate in the Massachusetts Civic Project Showcase at Bridgewater State University.  Over the past nine months, students in 8th and 10th grade have conducted a Civic Action Project where they investigated a community issue that they cared about and took action to bring about lasting change.  As a result of their Civic Action Projects, students embraced their role as active citizens who can create positive change in their community.  

After local presentations, six exemplary student groups were selected to attend the Massachusetts showcase, put on by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  These groups showcased their hard work to state level community advisors, received feedback and met with other students from across the state.  Congratulations to all the students who participated for their outstanding work and for representing Scituate with pride.
