Celebrating Cross Country Seniors

The SHS XC senior meet was an exciting event, showcasing our talented athletes against the formidable combined squads of Quincy and North Quincy. Despite the challenging hot, dry, and dusty conditions, our seniors rose to the occasion, motivating younger athletes for two tough races.

While both teams faced tough competition and ultimately fell short against QNQ, we witnessed some remarkable individual performances. Senior AJ Sheehan clinched first place, narrowly defeating QNQ’s top runner in an exhilarating finish. Fellow senior Jack Beaudin displayed smart racing strategy, securing a hard-fought 8th place.

On the girls' side, junior Narissa Lipchitz battled with the top QNQ runners for over two miles, ultimately finishing in 3rd place. Senior Katie Gill set the pace for two freshmen, Fiona O'Dowd and Addie DuBois, who finished 7th and 8th overall, with Katie coming in 9th.

This event truly highlighted the leadership our seniors have exhibited over the past two years. With Katie and Jack’s strategic pacing, AJ’s courageous victory, and the encouragement of Jane Ryan, Maryn Noble, Aisling O'Leary, Tommy Guinan, Drew Webster, and Cruz Tompkins, all our athletes were inspired to compete at their best, despite the tough conditions and strong opponents.
