Scituate High School Class of 2024 Commencement Ceremony

The Faculty, Administration, and Graduates of the Scituate High School Class of 2024 are pleased to invite families to the Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 6:00 PM.

Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held at Stadium Field, with the procession starting promptly at 6:00 PM.

Guests

For the outdoor ceremony, no tickets are required, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis in the stadium. Gates open at 5:00 pm. While there's no maximum limit on guests, seating capacity is limited, so we request families to be considerate of space. Guests are not allowed on the track or field. Additionally, please refrain from sitting or standing on the wall in front of the first row of bleachers, as it obstructs the view of those seated there. Lawn chairs are permitted outside of the track fence.

In case of inclement weather, commencement may relocate indoors to the Large Gym, with each graduate limited to 4 guests. Paper tickets for this contingency are provided in the cap/gown package. Any weather-related delays will be communicated via email on May 31st.

Graduates

Students should meet inside the large gymnasium wearing their cap and gown by 5:00pm to line up. Graduates should park in the Gates Middle School parking lot. Graduates should pick up their diplomas in the large gym immediately following the graduation ceremony. Ensure that all obligations are fulfilled, including returning athletic uniforms, books, school-issued Chromebooks, and any other items.

Alternative ways to watch the ceremony:

• A livestream of the ceremony will be available on the Town of Scituate Facebook page via Facebook Live. You can watch it here. No Facebook account is required.
• Scituate Cable Television (SCTV) will record the entire graduation and make it available on the YouTube channel soon after. 

An auxiliary seating area with video display will be set up inside the Center for The Performing Arts. 

Other factors to consider:

• Turf Field Access: Please do not walk onto the turf field area after the exercises. Meet up with your graduate along the paved walkway or at a pre-designated spot for family photos.
• Parking: SHS Commencement will be very busy with many guests. To help alleviate congestion, please consider carpooling with your group.
• Tobacco Policy: State, local, and school policies prohibit the use of tobacco products on school property. Please refrain from smoking cigars on campus.
• Pets: Pets are not allowed on school property.
• Flowers: Flower bouquets will be available for sale by the junior class.
• Concessions: There will be no concessions available at the commencement.
• Photography: Professional photographers from Lifetouch Photography will take a close-up photo of each graduate as they receive their diploma. Look for an order link in your email soon after the commencement.
