Welcome Scituate High School Principal - Mr. Marc Loranger

Scituate Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Marc Loranger as the Principal of Scituate High School. Mr. Loranger will begin effective July 26, 2023.
Background
- Twenty-nine years of experience including teacher, coach, department head, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, and most recently, the College Career and Technical Education Director for the Plymouth Public Schools.
- As the Freshman Academy Assistant Principal at Plymouth South High School, Marc and his staff installed various programs to improve the failure rate of freshman students. Marc and his staff decreased the failure rates in the Freshman Academy at Plymouth South High School to approximately 1%. He was asked to speak at a National Education Conference in Boston, Massachusetts about the academic success of the Freshman Academy in 2018.
- As the CCTE Director in Plymouth, Marc and his technical staff oversaw the growth of students competing and winning at the DECA and SkillsUSA district, state, and national levels.
- As the Head Wrestling Coach at Plymouth South High School, he was inducted into the Massachusetts Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2015. In 2021, Marc received the ultimate honor of being inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, OK.
Mr. Loranger is very excited to begin working at Scituate High School. He has been described as a compassionate student-centered educator.
Mr. Loranger looks forward to working with the faculty, students, and community at Scituate High School. He believes that creating a positive, upbeat school culture is the key to student success. When students are motivated, they work harder and learn more. He envisions a building where faculty are excited to be there and the students are striving for success academically and socially. Student involvement with extra-curricular activities is the key to a healthy high school.
In his free time, Mr. Loranger enjoys spending time with his wife of 28 years, Evon, and their three children. Theresa is 27 years old and a teacher and coach at Plymouth Community Intermediate School in Plymouth, Caroline is 25 years old and a 4th-grade teacher at Orchard Garden School in Boston, and his son Anthony is a junior at Bridgewater State University majoring in sports management and currently works for the Boston Red Sox. Marc and Evon have a grandson Luca that is the apple of their eye.
