Student Safety and Dismissal Information
As we have begun our school year, we ask that you adhere to the following policies to ensure the safety of all of our students.
- If your child is a bus rider, she/he will be put on the assigned bus unless a note is received with the change in transportation.
- If your child is a walker, they will exit the front door unless the teacher has a note specifying that he/she is a car rider. The child will then exit through the gym doors into the car line.
- Any changes require a note to the teacher. Please do not rely on emails for a change in your child's transportation. Phone calls to the school should only occur in the event of an emergency.
- If your child arrives after 8:55am when the doors are closed, you must park your car, escort your child into the building, and sign him/her in at the lobby.
With our goal of safe transport of each and every student daily, we thank you for your cooperation..
Forgotten Items
Any items (lunches, water bottles, homework, library books, etc.) brought to school will be placed on the drop off table. The classroom teacher will be notified by email.
Lost and Found
Please label all articles of clothing. Lost and found items not labeled or claimed will be donated in January and June.
A Message from Mr. Bennett, R.N.
Suggestions for a successful school day:
- Bring a refillable water bottle to school every day.
- Wear weather appropriate clothing. Please have your child wear sneakers or comfortable shoes for running, using the playground equipment, and physical education class to help prevent injuries.
- Pack your student a healthy and substantial snack and lunch every day (if not getting school lunch).
- Keep a spare set of clothing in your student’s backpack if they are prone to toileting accidents.
Health Records
Please be sure that your child’s health/immunization record is up to date by sending Nurse Bennett the most recent copy of your child’s physical exam.
- All students in Kindergarten and 3rd grade are required to provide this documentation.
- Kindergarten families, if your child has had a more recent physical exam since registration please send in the updated health form.
Vision and Hearing Screenings
Annual vision and hearing screenings will take place in the health office. Kindergarten and ECC students will have vision screenings on September 30th. You will be notified if your child does not pass the screening.
Illnesses
Preschool and Elementary aged children can easily spread and pick up germs and viruses. If your child is sick, contact your Pediatrician for guidance and/or evaluation before returning to school. Please keep your child home for 24 hours after a fever, vomiting, or diarrheal illness, and/or after contagious illnesses such as strep throat to avoid infecting others.
