What is MCAS?

• MCAS testing is an important component of the public school system. Every spring students throughout Massachusetts participate in this statewide assessment.
• MCAS helps families, caregivers, and educators know where our school district stands when it comes to mastering the state curriculum frameworks.

Why is MCAS important in Scituate?

• Our goal is to inspire, support, and challenge all learners to reach their full potential.
• MCAS is one of many assessments educators use to adjust instruction and determine what skills to focus on so that every child receives the best possible instruction.
• MCAS data helps the district align evidenced based resources with best practices in teaching and learning.

How can you support your child?

• Celebrate MCAS days.
• Encourage all learners to do their best.
• Be a cheerleader for your child. Let them know you believe in their ability to do well on MCAS.
• Remind your child they are READY!
