Caring for Your Chromebook

As we settle into the school year at Gates Middle School, we're noticing an increase in devices being sent in for repair. To avoid issues, it's important that students take proper care of their school-issued Chromebooks. Here are a few simple tips to follow:

Do:

• Charge your Chromebook every night.
• Carry your Chromebook closed, using both hands.
• Close it when not in use.
• Shut it down (don’t just close) at the end of the day!

Don’t:

• Place your Chromebook on the floor.
• Stack books or other heavy items on top of it.
• Touch or grab someone else’s Chromebook.
• Sandwich your Chromebook between books in your backpack.

Handle your Chromebook with care to keep it working smoothly all year long!
