The Jenkins Fifth Grade Student Council is sponsoring two charitable giving opportunities for our school community this holiday season. Thank you to Mrs. Baird, Advisor, for her guidance of this before-school club. All fifth graders are welcome to join Student Council at any time as family schedules change throughout the school year.
Donate a Dollar to The Maximus Vaccarino Fund for the Arts on our December Spirit Days.
- Dress as a Holiday Character, Friday 12/13
- Holiday Pajama and Slipper Day, Friday 12/20
- Don’t want to dress up? Feel free to wear holiday colors instead!
South Shore Foster Closet Clothes Drive: December 9-18, send items to school with students.
- Kindergarten:Toddler size socks 1T-3T, Toddler size underwear for boys and girls 2-3T, 3-4T, size 1 diapers.
- Grade 1: Toddler size socks 4T-5T, underwear for boys and girls children size extra small and small, size 2 diapers
- Grade 2: Socks children's small/medium, underwear for boys and girls size 5/6, diapers size 3.
- Grade 3: Socks children's small/medium, underwear for boys and girls children, size 7/8, diapers size 4
- Grade 4: Socks children's medium/large, underwear for boys and girls children, size 9/10, diapers size 5
- Grade 5: Socks children's medium/large, underwear for boys and girls children, size 11/12 , pull ups sizes 3T-5T
Last school year, Jenkins Elementary collected 1,412 pairs of socks, 2,620 diapers and 580 pairs of underwear for the South Shore Foster Closet! Wow!
Jenkins Partners with SHS Girls Basketball
- Send in gently used shoes of any style or size to Jenkins, or bring them to a home basketball game.
- Donations benefit developing nations and SHS Girls Basketball.
- Shoe donations accepted through January 15, 2025.
Upcoming Jenkins Dates:
- December 9: PTO Meeting at Galley Restaurant, 7:00 pm
- December 10-13: Student Book Fair during scheduled Library class time
- December 11: Jenkins Winter Concert, 5:00-6:00pm, Center for the Performing Arts. Students arrive at 4:45 pm.
- December 12: Book Fair Family Night, 5:00 - 7:00 pm
- December 13: Dress as a Holiday Character, Donate a Dollar!
- December 20: Wear Holiday Pajamas and Slipper Day, Donate a Dollar!
- December 20: Early Dismissal at 11:25 am, Happy December Vacation
- December 20: Shark Assembly “Empathy”
- January 2: Welcome Back to School!
