Music filled our Jenkins neighborhood on a beautiful Scituate afternoon
Music filled the neighborhood while this flute class practiced under the direction of Ms. DaSilva, Instrumental Music Teacher.
Jenkins Got Talent! WOW!
- Over 60 Jenkins students showcased their acts at “Jenkins Got Talent” on our stage.
- Thank you to PTO volunteers Shannon Buchannon, Nikki Saunders, Sheena Smead, Nelle Stevens, DJ Stevens, and Courtney DuBois for organizing the rehearsals and logistics for this “best ever” show.
- Approximately $1,000 was raised for the Jenkins playground project, thank you for the donations from our families and friends.
Fourteen student acts included vocal solos, dancing, group performances, and instrumental recitals.
Performing in front of a large crowd takes practice and bravery. Well done!
First Grade Field Trip to Hornstra Farms in Norwell
- First Grades saw the different stages of a cow’s life live and in person including newborn calves, toddlers, teenagers, and adult cows – a perfect connection to the My View Unit “How do living things grow and change?”
- How does milk get from the cow to our tables? Ask a first-grader!
- Thank you to the many volunteers who chaperoned this fun field trip!
Third Grade visits Holly Hill Farm in Cohasset
- How do plants and animals live together? Students answered this inquiry question from the third-grade My View Unit firsthand
- They planted carrot seeds, fed the animals, and had a chance to hug the "grandmother tree".
- Third graders explored the farm property looking for native plants and animals, and spotting turtles, tadpoles, and water bugs at Ice Pond.
Splashing into a Good Book with Ms. Karcher
- Congratulations to Ms. Karcher who is completing her student teaching through Merrimack College at Jenkins in kindergarten and second grade.
- Ms. Karcher created this shark-themed bulletin board to encourage reading for pleasure.
