March Guest Readers
March has been a fun month with many different guest readers to celebrate Read Across America! It was wonderful to see parents, grandparents, community leaders, retired teachers, and district leaders visiting our students and celebrating literacy. Thank you to all who read to our students, they loved having you!
Comfort Dog Visits
With the mission to foster the social and emotional well-being of students, we are proud to partner with the Cohasset Working Dog Foundation for a comfort dog program for the remainder of the 2023-2024 School Year. With the many proven positive physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and mental health benefits of pet therapy, we will offer this unique and therapeutic resource with our school community. The dog will have opportunities to visit classrooms and hallway time. If for any reason you would like to opt your child out and not participate in the comfort dog program, please sign this form. If you have any questions please contact Jamie McNamara, School Adjustment Counselor.
Thank you to our PTO!
On Monday, our generous PTO provided homemade soups and salads for the staff room! It was wonderful for our entire staff to have such a delicious lunch and yummy desserts cooked for us by our Hatherly parents and caregivers. Thank you all so much!
First Grade Light Project
Students are learning about light in first grade. We learned vocabulary words like transparent, translucent and opaque. We created artwork that made our windows transform from transparent to translucent.
Second Grade Book Share
On Wednesday morning second grade families were invited to a book share. Second graders shared their personal narratives they have been working on for the past few weeks. Great work!
Fourth Grade Science
Mrs. Flynn’s fourth graders were experimenting with dominoes and marbles during science this week! Students were experimenting with the concepts of potential and kinetic energy.
Parachute in PE
Thank you to Mr. P for planning this fun and engaging physical education lesson for our students! It was amazing to see students cooperating with each other. They had a blast!

We are so proud of all of the hard work that our third graders put into ELA MCAS this week. See the schedule below for upcoming dates:
Spring Fever
We are all getting excited for spring activities and nicer weather! With this on the horizon this is a friendly reminder to please try and notify the office with any dismissal changes by 2pm daily or any ongoing schedule changes due to spring after school activities! We want to make sure all students are safe at dismissal and limit any confusion! Thank you for your support and understanding with dismissal changes.
