On March 11, 2024 the School Committee met for its regular meeting and voted and approved the Special Town Meeting motion for the transfer of unspent funds from the Gates Middle School project to the upcoming Cushing/Hatherly project; voted and approved the FY25 District Calendar; and welcomed student Louisa Kinsley who shared many SHS updates including the upcoming STEM+ Showcase, SHS Cyber Sailor Competing at BSU, February Sailors of the month, and Course Selections. Additionally, Department Chair Greg Raneri with teachers and students from the business department showcased the remarkable work of students in our business and finance classes including our DECA State Champions.  For the full business department presentation & our DECA state champions, please click the links below.

Leadership Report

jamele adams provided the Committee updates on diversity, equity, and inclusion in Scituate Public Schools reiterating the key take aways:

  • Human Resources has expanded our search outreach resources 
  • Our District Learning Committee will guide our district's equity initiatives
  • All of our Love Inclusion & Trust (LIT) Teams at each school are strong and lead by SPS staff 
  • Our District's equity connection to our Scituate Police Department (SPD) and community continues to grow and strengthen through our community conversations and SPD meet and greets.
  • We are inaugural members of the state-recognized and Secretary of Education supported the Association of Massachusetts School Equity Leaders (AMSEL)
