Winter Concert

Our 4th and 5th graders did an amazing job at the in-school Winter Concert on Wednesday! It was an incredible display of not only musical ability, but also kindness and teamwork. I told the students how proud I was of how they helped one another and really worked together to make this concert so special. The audience was amazing also! We cannot wait to see them perform at the Performing Arts Center on 11/30

A shout out to Greg Lessard and Peter Mundt for planning such a fantastic concert for the entire Hatherly community! We are so lucky to have you!

Character Strong- Practicing Responsibility

Our theme for November has been Responsibility. One way to define Responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” There are many ways that all children can show responsibility:

  • Students can show responsibility by putting on and carrying their own backpacks in the mornings (even Kindergarteners!).
  • They can be responsible for doing chores at home and if they don’t complete that chore, they can understand the impact that has on others.
  • Older students can show responsibility by making sure that they pack their backpacks every night.
  • 5th graders can be responsible for making sure that they charge their chromebooks each night.
  • 4th and 5th grade band students can make sure that their instruments are near the door the night before so that they don’t forget them.
  • Small changes can have a big impact!

Next month our theme is Empathy.

Parent Conferences

Report cards will be available in Aspen on the afternoon of Friday, December 1st. Parent conferences will take place on Tuesday, December 5th and Thursday, December 7th from 4pm-7pm.

Giving Thanks

Ms. Nyberg, our LIT team advisor (and Physical Therapist), joined forces this week with Mr. Puzzangara, our PE and Health teacher, to have students complete a “Gratitude Tree” in our school. Our Health students and LIT team members wrote what they were thankful for on “leaves” and stuck them to the tree in our lobby.

Cushing Hatherly MSBA Building Public Meeting

The next public meeting for the combined Cushing and Hatherly School building will take place on December 6th at the Scituate High School Library at 6:30pm. Click on the link below for additional information and optional Zoom link.

Reminders

  • Please call or email the office by 2pm with any dismissal changes.  Last minute changes impact dismissal procedures and the safety of our students. Thank you.
  • Please label all your child(ren)s clothing, especially as more layers come to school.
  • If the temperature is below 40°, students need pants, hats, and gloves to be able to go outside to recess.
