STEM+ Take Flight with Captain Barrington Irving

Scituate Public Schools welcomes all parents, families, students, and staff to join us in the Performing Arts Center at Scituate High School on October 26th from 6pm - 7pm for a STEM+ presentation with Captain Barrington Irving. Please come meet Captain Irving, the founder of The Flying Classroom, and listen to his amazing story. Captain Irving will share his inspirational journey as a young person and how STEM impacted his life. His message is one that inspires children and adults alike, and his mission is to instill the wonder that STEM brings to our youth now and in the future.
Scituate Public Schools 3rd - 5th grade students and families will be the first to have the chance to SIGN UP to participate in their own free STEM+ expeditions. We have partnered with Captain Irving to offer hands-on STEM+ experiences in the comfort of your home and at no cost to you. In collaboration with Flying Classroom, we will be providing engaging, expeditionary, and immersive virtual classes for 3 Saturdays - November 19th, December 3rd, and December 10th. Each Saturday session will be facilitated by an Expedition Leader who will provide guidance and instruction to children and their families in the virtual sessions. The 90 minute classes will run from 9:00am to 10:30am and offer excitement and wonder.
Children and families participating in Flying Classroom's virtual sessions will receive STEM+ material kits delivered right to their homes. Over the course of the three Saturdays, explorers will complete expeditions that will be applicable to their lives and experiences and fill imaginations with the possibilities that STEM brings to them for the future.
We look forward to seeing everyone at this fantastic evening event!
