Joanne Boucher, Ed.D.

Dr. Boucher began her career as a speech-language pathologist in the public school setting in 2003. Throughout her career, she has served students across all grade levels in rural and urban school districts. Her professional interests include social communication, language and literacy, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Her commitment to supporting educators and ensuring that all students receive the services they need inspired her transition into special education administration.

For the past twelve years, Dr. Boucher has served as a special education administrator at the elementary, middle, high school, and district-wide levels. Most recently, she served as the Director of Special Education at a vocational school in Easton. She is passionate about building strong systems of support that enable schools to meet the diverse needs of all learners through collaborative partnerships with students, families, educators, and community agencies.

A lifelong learner, Dr. Boucher earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Motor Development Therapy and a minor in Psychology from Bridgewater State College. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Certificates of Graduate Study in Reading and Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University, and a Doctor of Education in Innovative Teaching and Learning from Northeastern University.

Dr. Boucher lives in Dartmouth with her husband, Tim. They have 24-year-old twins, Hannah and Nathan. Hannah recently earned her master's degree in Applied Psychology and is pursuing a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology. Nathan earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and works in the sales industry. Outside of work, Dr. Boucher enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with  her family and their two Labrador retrievers, Kali and Ruby.
