Grade 7 Teacher Wins Writing Award
Congratulations to Gates Middle School Grade 7 ELA Teacher Karen Naylor who earned first place in the Boston Authors Club Young Adult Writing Contest for the manuscript of her young adult novel, Dancing with the All-Stars. The Boston Authors Club has counted among its members many well-known writers, including Louise Chandler Moulton, Mark Twain, and Willa Cather, among many others.
Mrs. Naylor has taken writing classes through the Grubstreet Writing Project and belongs to a weekly writing group. She shares her expertise and enthusiasm for the written word with her students, and she inspires them to find and celebrate their own voices as young writers. Congratulations, Mrs. Naylor!
